From Log to Pellet: The Integrated Production Process

Artemobili adopts a fully integrated production process, ensuring the efficient and sustainable use of wood from the arrival of logs from responsible forest management to the total utilization of waste in the form of pellets. This continuous chain reinforces our commitment to quality, traceability, and environmental sustainability in the furniture industry.

The production flow begins at the sawmill, where Pinus logs—all sourced from sustainable management—are received and cut. At this stage, the logs are transformed into boards and then inspected by quality control to ensure they meet the necessary standards for the next stages. This initial treatment ensures that only suitable wood continues in the manufacturing process.

After cutting, the wood undergoes a controlled drying process, which is essential for reducing moisture to appropriate levels, preventing warping, and ensuring the product's stability and strength. Proper drying is crucial for the durability and performance of furniture over time.

From drying to the sawmill, the dry wood is transformed into lamellas, produced in different widths according to the best use of the raw material. This stage prioritizes efficiency and loss reduction.

The rough lamellas pass through industrial planers until they reach the specified measurements. They then go to the Scanner, a high-tech device with artificial intelligence, capable of mapping internal and external defects in the wood, automatically classifying the pieces, and ensuring that the slats meet the quality standards required by customers. This precision control ensures uniformity and excellence in the finished products.

In the next step, the battens are glued into panels, following strict process standards. After gluing, the panels undergo final calibration, ensuring uniform thickness, structural stability, and compliance with technical specifications.

Once the wood has been prepared, the drilling and machining phase begins. Each component is worked with millimeter precision, ensuring perfect fits, standardized parts, and compatibility with modern assembly systems. This step is decisive for the final quality of the furniture.

The painting stage involves two main processes:

• UV
• Spray

High-performance dyes, lacquers, sealants, and varnishes are applied to them. The goal is to enhance the natural beauty of the wood, ensure protection for the piece, and provide a superior finish.

After all stages of production, the furniture is carefully packaged to ensure that it reaches the customer in perfect condition, protected against impact, moisture, and damage during transport.

During the process of planing the slats, Pinus sawdust is generated, a clean, dry, high-quality by-product. This sawdust is used as raw material for the manufacture of pellets—wood granules intended for fireplaces, boilers, heat exchangers, and the pet market.
The pelletizing process transforms this waste into a high-performance renewable biofuel, as well as a sustainable product for animal use and a practical solution with low environmental impact.
